We believe that the initial project is just the start of the relationship with our clients. Following the launch of the site, we've begun gathering feedback from users and stakeholders and are currently planning another phase of work to ensure JOHNS&CO's online platform continues evolving as a best-in-class property website.
We began by prototyping and checking the overall online experience against their key requirements and stakeholders. Once we'd agreed on the look and feel of the website, we began scoping out the core functionality. Taking a fluid approach, we utilised advanced content editing features to ensure their marketing team and content editors had a flexible and fast way of producing dynamic new pages and articles without having to involve developers.
After the design stage, the priority for the development phase was twofold.
Firstly, in a fast-moving marketplace a robust, secure and fast connection with their property management software was vital. We built a bespoke application that connected to the property managements software API and allowed for as close to real-time updates to properties on the site as possible.
Secondly, the site itself needed to be built to the latest modern standards and with search engine optimisation (SEO) in mind. We focused on ensuring that page speed was optimised to be as quick as possible meaning that no matter what device or connection users were on they had a consistent experience. Our efforts resulted in page speeds increasing by 35%.
